So, what old features did the old Armory have that the new WCA doesn’t? Well let’s take a look: We could just login and open our map, it’s not like a World Boss is going to disappear for the entire week and we miss our drops. Secondly, the WQs lose their worth as we outgear the drops, so this feature isn’t urgent enough to warrant cutting other features for it. Firstly, you can’t login to the app and the game’s client at the same time, so it’s not like you could use it as a second screen. Namely, the World Quest map, and the Callings tab. While that is a lot of stuff jam packed into the app, a lot of it is unnecessary- and frankly if feature bloat is the issue, some things could be cut to bring back old features. Let’s look at what the current WoW Companion App (WCA) has: Communities and Guilds (chat), World Quest tracking, News, War Table stuff, Callings tracker, and the Calendar. When your mobile team killed the WoW Armory app, they did not replace all the important features that the old app gave. Note: Some of these pictures I had to open-source, because I don’t have any screenshots of my old WoW Armory anymore. TL DR: Implement the following features into the WCA- 3D models, more character details, achievements, collectibles, Auction House functionality, integrate chat/whispers into Community tab, item browsing, Talent Calculator, REVIVE FIGUREPRINTS. This butchery resulted in the current web-based profile system we have today ( ) and the WCA ( ).
